The weather was absolutely perfect for our gorgeous St Kilda Botanical Gardens wedding. There was a stunning little gazebo surrounded by magnificent roses which is where we decided to hold our ceremony. The ceremony was absolutely perfect. We decided to write our own vows and when I heard what my husband wrote, I found it incredibly hard not to cry. During the signing, my beautiful 2 year old Son decided to show off his dancing skills and strutted his stuff to the music that was playing in the background. Certainly turned everyone's teary eyes into big smiles and laughs. Next was time for photos. I had 3 incredibly talented photographers who made the whole experience very enjoyable. They took us to Luna Park and the Palais Theatre, then on to the beach. Our Reception was on an amazing boat called the 'Sea Melbourne' From start to finish it was just perfect. Everyone commented on what a great idea and how fantastic it was. The food was delicious and the staff were lovely. I decided to go with doing my own decorations, We had a silver, white and black theme and it ended up looking fantastic. The Groomsmen were wearing silver suits and the bridesmaids looked beautiful in their black and white dresses. It was perfect day and everything went off without a hitch.

Wedding colours were red, white and black, this theme featured throughout (starting with the wedding invites a few months back, then on the wedding day with the flower colours, stationary and reception room décor. The first dance of the night was to one of the first songs Nathan sung and played on his guitar to Rebecca just before they were a couple (“Hero” – by Enrique Iglesias), and last song of the night was “Kissed by a Rose” by Seal, which was picked out as it would be lovely but also funny as Nathan’s surname is Rose – everyone had a good ol’ laugh to this, but all jumped onto the dance floor for a dance and sing. As soon as we got out of the front doors of the Church, we had the biggest smile on our faces – I was actually laughing. When you have wanted something for so long and then at the point when you have just gotten it, it is such an amazing feeling! All elements had personalised touches – from the centrepieces created by Rebecca and her family (submerged rose centrepieces) to the table name cards (Survivor – Reality TV program – theme named) down to the red beaded love heart on the side of the brides dress (made the Friday before the wedding to add a little ‘wow’ factor). Our cake topper was a clay figure replica of Nathan and Rebecca, as well as their little dog Louie. Funniest Moment was at the reception when my NZ family was the entertainment of the night. They were running around collecting the LED lights from the centrepieces, placed them into the bonbonniere bags and were throwing them around in the bags, placing the lights down their shirts, up their sleeves (to give them muscles)
