Meet Danielle & Richard
We met playing indoor netball – I knew his brother and sister in-law and played on their mixed team and Richard would fill in from time to time.
The proposal
Richard took me out to dinner and then proposed on the beach where we had our first date.
He had friends put candles in the sand that said ‘Will you marry me?’
Your Wedding Day
Our dream was to be married in a quaint country church – which we found 10 minutes away from our reception venue, Ecostudio Fellini, which has a natural setting and an expansive split level timber reception deck with beautiful soft lighting, French windows and views out to the lily pond, gardens and bushlands beyond.
We complemented the hinterland surroundings with rustic chic styling featuring native flowers, timber, lace and candles, keeping the colours neutral and the lighting delicate to create an intimate, romantic atmosphere.
On the day we arrived at Ecostudio Fellini, where the on-site wedding co-ordinator met us with a glass of Champagne.
We took some time, just the two of us, to watch as our guests enjoyed the canapé hour – it was so precious to take it all in.
The venue looked amazing, the sun was setting and our guests were out on the lawn eating canapes, drinking Champagne and playing lawn games.
It was special having our closest family and friends in one place – celebrating and sharing our first meal as husband and wife with those dearest to us was something we will never forget.
Italian cuisine is our favourite and the food from award-winning Gold Coast Italian restaurant Fellini was delicious, presented beautifully, and our guests loved every mouthful.
Along with the exquisite food our guests enjoyed the wonderful service, exploring the grounds, and dancing under the stars.
We have beautiful photos of the outdoor dance floor with our guests holding sparklers and the white festoon lights twinkling around the venue.
I’ll always remember celebrating the start of our marriage with our closest family and friends in one place, the most idyllic wedding venue.
As our perfect day came to an end we retired to our comfortable onsite lodge to relax and reflect.
1. Don’t forget your veil at the alter. I did! Thankfully some lovely guys went back to get it so it did make it into a few photos.
2. Make sure you find a moment to take it all in. After we had taken some photos, we arrived at the reception venue. Our guests were eating canapés, drinking champagne and playing lawn games. We spent some moments on the balcony just watching everyone and taking it all in. This was the day we had waited so long for and it is so important to take it in.
3. Take the time to catch up with your vendors before the wedding. It was so great to have met our photographer, hair dresser, make-up artist and wedding coordinator before the big day. They were familiar faces to have around and they made us all feel comfortable.
All of it!
The Ecostudio Fellini wedding co-ordinator did an incredible job planning our reception.
She was so calm and encouraging throughout the whole process and it was special to have her there on the day.
She did an amazing job bringing it all together.
