Meet Sarah & Nick
We met four years ago when Nick accompanied a mutual friend to a party I hosted. I was a bit drunk and silly and told Nick to leave as I didn’t invite him. He was too scared to speak to me for the rest of the night!
A few weeks later we met again and were instantly attracted. When Nick finally got up the courage to kiss me it felt like we were the only two people in the world.
The proposal
We live on a beautiful property in Country Victoria and are both avid stargazers. Nick took me out in the very dark and scary night. I was freezing and wanted to go back inside. Whilst I was looking up at the stars he got down on one knee and asked me to make him the happiest man alive. It was so sweet I cried and of course said YES!
Your Wedding Day
Our wedding day was almost a complete disaster! We planned a garden wedding on our property and did not have a plan B!
The day before the wedding we had torrential rain and winds of up to 60kms per hour. On the morning of the wedding, there was snow in the nearby mountains and Nicks mother and our two sons required a police escort to get down the mountain so they could make it to the wedding!
It rained on and off all day however when I started walking down the aisle the sun peeked through the clouds and the rain eased to a very light mist.
The song playing was The Luckiest by Ben Folds and my tears flowed as I walked towards my soon to be husband. Everything melted away and all I could see was his smiling face.
The only regret I have for the day was that our two-year-old daughter fell asleep in the car on the way to the ceremony. When I woke her she had a HUGE tantrum and refused to get out of the car so I walked down the aisle without her.
We had such a fantastic and special day with our family and friends. It was worth all the dramas to be happily married to my wonderful husband.
