Meet Alfina & Aaron
We met at TAFE in 2007 while completing a 2 year computer networking course. Aaron asked me out after a year at TAFE. He trained it 2.5 hours to the school I was working at to watch my Year 1 students’ Christmas concert and then asked me out later that evening.
The proposal
Aaron had organised tickets to the opening night of Wicked! in Sydney for my birthday in September 2009 and a stay in the city. He insisted I get up early in the morning of the show to go into the city and he surprised me with a Harbour Bridge Climb. He proposed at the summit of the bridge!
Your Wedding Day
I wore my mum’s veil and the gloves my Nonna wore 51 years ago at her wedding. We were married at Our Lady of Fatima Church at Kingsgrove. Some of my Year 4 students attended and blew bubbles at us outside the church once we were married. This was followed by photos at Carss Park and a reception at the newly renovated Garden’s on Forest at Peakhurst. I made a lot of the parts of the wedding myself: the invitations, bonbonniere, unity candle, guest tree and church pew bows.
