Meet Danielle & Michael
We met via the internet, through the RSVP website in early 2005. We emailed for several months first and then met up for dinner when Michael had an excuse to come to Melbourne (he lived 2 hours from Melbourne). Two weeks later we had dinner again in his hometown and things just went from there.
The proposal
We were on holiday on the Mornington Peninsula and unbeknownst to me, Michael had purchased the ring during the week beforehand. It was Valentines Day and we had just spent a lovely morning being pampered at a Dayspa and were back at our accommoation when he started acted strangely and suddenly sank to one knee telling me how much he loved me and would I marry him. I kind of spoiled it by asking “are you serious” as I was so surprised.
Your Wedding Day
It was 30 degrees, but quite overcast so the sun was not beating down on us. We held both our ceremony and reception aboard a boat from the Docklands, which cruised up and down the Yarra River and into the bay. Several guests were a bit hesitant due to potential seasickness, but it was quite calm and everyone had a great time. We surprised everyone with our wedding dance, we had been having dancing lessons for 3 months prior and with the help of our dance teacher had devised a choreographed dance, which everybody loved. Our cake was beautiful and delicious. We also obtained a canvas that was prepared by a painter with cartoons of us, our wedding date and the first two lines of our vows. This was our guest book, everyone wrote on it with their best wishes to us.
