Meet Donna & Luke

We met at work – Luke as a teacher and I was the school counsellor. However we had a chance meeting 6months later, both having a coffee at the same coffee shop.

The proposal

We lived in Dublin, Ireland for 9months, following my dream of living and working overseas. I finished work the day before my birthday (27/11/09) and we decided to celebrate our time in Dublin on my birthday before setting off on 6 weeks travel before heading home. Luke organised dinner in a french restaurant, with champagne to match, and during the evening an Irish song was played on the piano – which I absolutely loved, and Luke then asked me…we couldn’t stop smiling!

Your Wedding Day

We got married on 09/10/11 – booking the date before we realised the running numbers! The weather forecast was 17 and rain, however after being overcast in the morning, it didn’t rain at all during our outdoor ceremony at Cummins House!
The ceremony was relax and fun, with many guest commenting that it reflected us both perfectly – a blend of fun and seriousness, and that they could feel the love in the air.
The reception to follow at the Observatory was everything we had imagined. The room was fantastic, the food and service brilliant and it was all topped off by Luke surprising me by singing ‘When you say nothing at all’ by Ronan Keating, which he’d organised with the musician we booked for the night.
It all went too quickly, but it truely was the best day of our life.
