Shoalhaven Strings offers quality string music for weddings in the Shoalhaven and surrounding areas of the NSW South Coast. Our musicians are skilled locals who bring with them a wealth of performance experience and professionalism. Your music needs are our priority, and we will work with you to achieve your musical aspirations for your wedding.
Shoalhaven Strings offers a variety of ensembles comprised of Violin, Cello, Guitar and Piano. We are available as a String Trio (Violin, Cello & Guitar OR 2 Violins & Cello) and String Duo (Violin/Cello & Guitar OR Violin & Cello OR Violin/Cello & Piano).
Our repertoire covers classical and contemporary styles of music, and can be tailored to suit the mood of your event. We love playing all styles of string music, from the iconic and traditional classical tunes to contemporary music from film, television and popular culture. We welcome music chosen by the Bride and Groom from outside of our existing repertoire and will happily go the extra mile to arrange and learn requested songs to add a personal touch to your event.
Shoalhaven Strings was established in 2012 by Joanna Landstra and April Hudson, who had met in 2004 through their involvement with the WIN Wollongong Symphony Orchestra and other professional ensembles in Wollongong. At the time, both Joanna and April were playing as freelance musicians for other string quartet groups and recognised that weddingsin the Nowra and surrounding areas were largely covered by musicians from outside of the region. Shoalhaven Strings was founded to provide an opportunity for talented and experienced local musicians to perform locally, as well as servicing the needs of the local wedding industry.
