Meet Liz & Paul
We actually met through my ex-boyfriend, they were good friends at school. We met once before we all went to the city for uni, and then again 3 years later after my ex and I had broken up. The three of us had gone out drinking after our 3rd-year exams, and Paul and I kissed when my ex-had left the room to get more drinks. Little did we know that there were cameras in the room we were in, so people at the main bar could watch when they had a band playing. The ex saw everything!
The proposal
Well, he had an elaborate plan to take me out to dinner and present me with the dessert of a huge ring-shaped chocolate. However, he got a little impatient and instead proposed one Saturday morning when we’d just woken up. He even surprised himself with that!
Your Wedding Day
It was magnificent. It was 30 degrees, so very hot. My matron of honour wasn’t sure if she could make it, as she’d gone into labour, however, the hospital gave her permission to attend the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful and simple, and the people most important to us were there.
We had 4 photo locations after the ceremony, and then an afternoon cocktail reception at the local racecourse.
Given that we did the wedding on a tight budget – we are both still students – you couldn’t tell at all. Everything was wonderful.
