Meet Dana & Simon
I moved to Sydney for a work opportunity in July 2006 from Toronto, Canada. Being of Ukrainian descent, I began to attend Mass at St Andrew’s Church. From there I made some new friends, and eventually ended up at a BBQ at one of their friends’ places – in Simon’s backyard! Shortly after we met Simon organized a dinner for all of us on my birthday, then after about month of appearing wherever he knew I was he finally asked me out. Our first date ended with a 45min kiss on the streets of Sydney the rest is history!
The proposal
About a year after we met I planned a 4 week trip to Canada for my sister’s wedding, and it was only natural that Simon would come with me. I figured it wasn’t going to happen on this trip. On our last day I walked into the room that I’d had since I was a child and sitting on my bed was an open ring box with a note saying: “[on first side] If this ring fits…[on reverse side] will you marry me?” I ran downstairs where Simon was anxiously waiting and managed to remember to say “yes”.
Your Wedding Day
Our wedding day was all we could have hoped for a beutiful ceremony, beautiful blue skies and a wondeful time spent with our friends and family.
